For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you, and give you hope.

Flower Accessories

I've been wanting to get this started since the beginning of this winter.

I learned how to make my own flower pins, hair clips, and headbands, and love making them!! It's a fun little hobby, and I figured since its something I really like to do, why not try and sell a few and make a couple bucks. :)

They make really awesome, fun gifts to give to your girlfriends, your sisters, mothers, daughters, and yourself.(You're allowed to do that occasionally, right? Right.) They are a fun accessory to dress up and add character to any outfit, or hairdo.

I can't wait to use them on my Baby Girl (only 4 weeks until she's born. EXCITEMENT!!)

Here are pictures of a few things I have made right now: I had to use myself as a model for some of these, I'll have a much cuter model to use once Baby is born:)

White Flower Clip

                                                     White Flower Headband

Yellow Flower Headband

Twisted Yellow Flower Headband (made from a cotton fabric)

These two are 'mini' flowers. They would be perfect in a baby's hair. The clip is covered with a soft velvet, easy to put in and out of soft baby hair.
The headbands are made out of soft, stretchy elastic. They are kind of a "one size for all". For adults, little kids, and babies. Approx. 15"

Just a sample of the sizes, colors, and styles I have on hand right now.
Showing what I can make, any size, color, and/or style with a pin, clip, or headband.

This white flower clip is my favorite one. Its a mini, and is on a clip covered with brown ribbon.

One last option.. a soft velvety clip. Perfect for clipping back your own bangs, or your Little Ones' sprouty hairs. I made a green one, I also have bright pink, and soft lavender colors on hand.

I apologize, this was quite a picture-y post!
But just so you know what I make. And also, if you like a certain style or color that I haven't put together you can most certainly request whatever it is you like.  You can also request any size flower...mini, regular, and I don't have a picture of one, but I can make them over-sized.

I also have black fabric on hand, just didn't have any made at the time to post a picture.

I will update again when I make more varieties, so keep checking back!

Prices are:

Headbands $6

Hair Clips and Flower Pins $5

Mini Flowers Clips or Pins $3

Plain Velvet Clips $1.50 or set of 3 for $3

*No worries if you live in another state, I'm more than happy to ship an item to you.

Just Feel The Need

Yes, I just feel the need to type some things out, before I become a sloppy mess of too many thoughts and emotions running through me.

First of all I just wanna sing my praises to my AWESOME GOD!! In Him I know I can trust, and I know He will take care of all of my concerns and worries. Because He is true and just, and full of LOVE and GRACE! Under His wings I rest, I don't need to stress and fear...I just needed to PROCLAIM that in Jesus' name.

I'm learning that proclaiming things in Jesus' name is such a powerful thing. As His children we have the authority to do such things. Because He LOVES us, and He wants us to be free in Him, and He wants to move in us and take us to places and wants us to experience freedoms we have never ever dreamed of experiencing and going to before. Cause He is just that awesome.

A wonderful girl from my church sent me this text this morning: "You will not need  to fight this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you. Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go against them, for the Lord is with you. 2 Chronicles 20:17

Absolutely beautiful. I love how God gives us just what we need when we need it.

ANYWAY: Onto a few other happenings in my life.. this afternoon is the "Big" Dr. appointment. We will find out of my precious little baby girl has turned herself into the proper position. Since last Thursday things have been feeling a lot different. And oh my word was she ever active over the weekend. Squirming and kicking and pushing...Then on Sunday I felt a little bulge on my right side that I could push in and down, and I'm about positive it was her little tush!! Which is a very good thing :) This morning though, when I woke up I could feel a hard little ball at the top of my stomach that unfortunately felt like her little head again...BUT, I could be wrong. We shall see!

I'm still resting in knowing that God has it all under control. He knows the desires of my heart, but He also knows the best way for her to be born. And He has a plan, He doesn't ever just leave things to chance, and whatever happens, happens. No, He is so much greater than that. His ways are higher than my ways.

I'm just so ready to have my baby girl here. I'm nearing the end of this pregnancy, and I can just feel it. The time is coming. And Oh man do I ever feel emotional! I could just burst into tears here and now, but the sun is shining outside so I don't want to be sad. I choose to be happy, happy happy!!! Haha

Yesterday my  Mom came over and painted this  mural on the wall in the babys' room..she did such a super amazing job! It's not completely finished yet, all it needs is little 'ribbons' hanging off of the branch with each letter of her name hanging from the ribbon. We are keeping the name a secret so that is going to have to wait to be done until after she is born. Here are some pixures:

She drew and cut out this stencil

Ta-da!! (isn't she just a beautiful woman??)

The almost finished project :) I LOVE how it turned out. I will definitely be posting pictures of the finished room. We are still waiting on the crib and changing table to be painted, and Mom is going to help me make the crib bedding.(which mostly means Mom is making the crib bedding for me) :) hehe Love you Mom, you truly are the greatest!!

Hope you all have a super day!

Check out this video of Kim Walker performing How He Loves. Powerful song, I get chills everytime I hear it.

Baby

This morning I went to the Dr. for a routine check- up on my Baby Girl. She's doing great, her heartbeat sounds good, she's measuring on chart. The only thing is the little Bean is sitting straight UP! I knew for sure she was breech two weeks ago when I was at the Dr.s office. In the past two weeks we've been talking to her, telling her the time is here for her to have her head down, so she can make her grand entrance into the world through natural birth. But must be she is stubborn. :) Or just plain old comfy right where she's at. Or maybe there is another reason, possibly she can't turn. Who knows? All I know is that its all in God's hands. I'm not giving up on the possibility of her turning. Trust me I'm gonna be getting in the "downward dog" position for a half hour every day (yes, it does look funny!!) But I just have a peace about everything. The thought of maybe having to have a C- Section doesn't scare me. I'm resting in knowing that God knows in which way she's going to be born into this world, He won't be surprised by a c- section..He already knew before she was even conceived. Either way....the day she is born is going to be the most amazing day of my life!! I'm excited.

I took some pictures this afternoon of my belly..Wow that thing is sticking way out there!!

34 Weeks today

I already love the little munchkin...can't wait to experience the feeling when I get to hold her in my arms. It's gonna blow me away for sure!

Ooh I found the coolest diaper bag ever..I'm totally ordering it this weekend when I have some extra cash...

Eek! It excites me! It's green, and the interior lining is pretty sweet too.
Anyway...I should go and take my neglected little dog on a walk on this gorgeous sunny, southern day.
Have a great one!!

Pillow Covers

As promised, here are pictures of the pillow covers that I made last Saturday. First, I'll start by showing you the original drab, brown ones. Well, in my opinion they were. Dwayne seemed to like them very much. Said they were manly...not my idea of great taste in decor! Anyway, here ya go.

This is how they looked before:

See, not very attractive

Fabric I found at Wal-Mart...the red with polka dots jumped out at me, and I hear it's always best to go with your first instinct when it comes to this kind of thing.

Ta-Da! Totally adds a fresh pop of color to the room

On the one pillow I added some pretty detailing, with the help of my mom (Thanks Mom) She made the little ruffle and sewed it across the top of the pillow. Then she let me dig through her button jar and I found a few nifty contrasting buttons to add below the ruffle.

And there they are. Super easy to make, trust me, I'm not very handy with a sewing machine and these were a cinch for me. Also lots of fun.

My next project is this:

The giant floofy hanging light!I found the tutorial on someones' blog, (i really hope that its ok that I copied the picture into my post).
I'm not going to make one nearly this large. I want a much smaller one to hang in the babys' nursery. I'm really excited to see how it will turn out, I'll be sure to let you know.

Sleeplessness

Yes, it is almost 5 in the AM. I've been awake since about 2 in the AM...if you know me at all, you know that this seriously annoys me. I love sleep...However, I'm not getting any tonight so I will blog. And sit here listening to Kim Walker belt out praise songs..she's awesome you should check out her music. How He Loves is my absolute favorite song of hers.

It's been ages since I've blogged anyway...my excuse is that I have nothing to really chat about, or I don't have interesting pictures to post. Pretty much malarky. :)

These past few weeks I have been feeling very creative and crafty, but not sure how to pull projects together. I'm hoping now that I have begun working half of my normal schedule I'll be able to make a few things. Today I was over at my Mom's all day, she helped me get started making new pillow covers..I love them! I'll post some pictures very soonly. Recently I've been checking out other womens' blogs, and become so inspired to make things. I love their creativity and how they post step-by-step pictures of things they have made. It makes me want to do the same...
I've been into making hair bows, flower pins and such. I have been wanting to make  a whole bunch and sell them somewhere, but didn't even know really where to get started, and today my sister and I were at Vintage Drift, a local consignment shop, and I noticed they were selling a few cute headbands. I got the brilliant idea to ask if they buy handmade things, lo and behold she told me they are always looking for handmade hair flowers and headbands. WooHoo!! She told me to bring a few in sometime. I'm a bit thrilled, I would love to make a buck or two off of something that I enjoy making. I think my goal would be to have my own cute little shop on Etsy.com. If you are into vintage and handmade things, you will go wild with all of the awesome, creative things for sale.

Eventually, (when I have the time) I want to learn how to make little knit hats and things for babies and small children. I'm really not sure where this need for a creative outlet is coming from. Hopefully its not just a 'pregnant phase' that will pass once the baby is here. It's such a good feeling to have made something that actually turns out looking good and they way you wanted it to.

Speaking of Baby, I've been browsing the web for ideas on decorating the nursery. Once again, I just love creative people, they inspire me so much. Once I get a few ideas pulled together and put into action, I will post pictures.

Ok, well since I have to get up in less than two hours to go to church, I'm going to try and get some sleep. Maybe since I've written out just a few of the many thoughts I have running through my head,I will have some luck.

*Be Blessed

This morning feels like winter... Outside is a little grey and dreary, although I think the sun is going to come out at some point, inside the heat is running, im wrapped in a blanket, got my big fluffy slippers on, and am wearing a hoodie. Maybe its just the mood I'm in, I don't know.

Yesterday was one of those good, fun days. I went to Bible study in the morning and came home and washed the sheets and did all of the laundry, I even went as far as cleaning out the refrigerator!! It wasn't the most pleasant job in the world, believe me. Now every time I open the fridge to get something I'm pleasantly surprised at how clean and empty and organized it is. So I stand there and enjoy it for a second :)

And the best part of all, I found out someone from my church is selling her crib, changing table, mattress, mattress pad, and some sheets..So I went over to her house to check it out, and I think that with a new paint job (its natural wood color that I'm not so into) it will look fantastic!! She was going to give me a GREAT deal on the whole lot, and then later in the afternoon she sent me a text saying that she and a couple other ladies are going to go together and give it to us as a baby gift!!! Ahh, I'm just so thrilled! God is so good in looking out for us, and providing for us. I'm so so blessed and so grateful. I can't wait to get my hands on it and sand it down and buy the paint. Perks to having a father as a painter...he is going to paint it with his sprayer. :) I just love good deals, and friends and family. ( i feel a teeny bit spoiled, but I decided to enjoy it to the fullest for now :))

Last night Dwayne and I went 'out'. Not necessarily on a date, but I've been wanting to go to Greenville and register at Babies R Us. (strictly for the $10 gift card and the 15% off coupons I had) And I also was looking for a dress for my brothers upcoming wedding, and the Old Navy there has a maternity clothes section. (which was really piddley in my opinion) I had no luck in finding a dress, but Dwayne found some really nice clothes to wear (he looks great in them ;))
Altogether it was SUCH a fun night! It was one of those nights where we just did whatever and had so much fun together, and just laughed and joked together. the kind that make you fall in love with your husband even more. I sound so mushy! haha But I loved every second of it. We were due for a fun night like that!! It was so adorable, at Old Navy I was looking at little girl clothes, I'm so bummed I missed the summer clearance, I had such good outfit ideas..anyway back to what was so cute..Dwayne was looking at the clothes too, and picked up these teeny little jeans and was like "these are awesome, I'm buying them". And anything that says 'Daddys Girl' on it he wants to buy. He's gonna be so cute with his daughter, I cannot wait to see it. He did want to register for a bib that said 'spit happens' on it though lol

Today I'm going to be making a trip to the Humane Society to get info about getting Odie neutered...I know, interesting bit of information there. But its a pretty big deal, cause it had better make him quit marking his 'territory'. arg. I don't know why dogs think they have to do that.
anyhoo.. I gonna quit blabbing now. Have a great day all

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

Wow, Its been awhile since I've posted. I guess I was waiting until I had some pictures to go along with it.

Last weekend we went camping with 2 of our friends. It was a beautiful weekend! Perfect weather, and chilly enough to be comfortable around the fire, had delicious food. I loved it. Pictures to come!

Today I go to the Dr. for my 20 wk ultrasound. I'm excited about going, I love when I get to see her! I guess the Dr. will be looking at her spine and liver and brain, lots of other things, I'm not sure what all exactly.
Her little kicks and rolls are becoming much stronger, Dwayne finally was able to feel it last week. While we were camping I was sitting in my chair and had just gotten done eating dinner, and she starting moving around. She must have rolled because just under my belly button I felt the weirdest feeling, it was like a sliding, rolling ball. It was really neat. The other night Dwayne was poking and pushing at my stomach trying to get her to kick at his hand, but she wasn't doing it, so I said "Baby, kick daddy's hand", and she did!! It was so cool, coincidence or not. :)

Yesterday Ony and I went to Target to finish my Baby registry. I love doing things like that. Only it makes me really antsy to get started on the room and everything. I want to repaint it, and we don't have a crib or any of those things yet. We are remodeling an addition room, and Dwayne wants to wait until we are done with that to start on the Baby's room. Arg. Its gonna take forever!
For the changing table I am going to refinish an old dresser we have. I want to sand off all of the old paint, and possibly paint it white, maybe antique it a little. For the top of the dresser I'd like to try and get all of the paint off and varnish it. Anyway, that will serve as a changing table and dresser for her. Save us some $ right there. Maybe I can start on that, that way I feel like I'm at least doing something.

I already think about what its going to be like when she's here. I'm really excited to have those few weeks of no work, and just to be at home with the baby all day. I can't wait! I'm so tired of cleaning houses I want to scream. (ok, not quite, but I am sick of it)

I need to go and get myself ready for work. Have a great week all!

I think this one is my 18 wk belly                       Here is my 20 wk belly...i really think it gets bigger every day lately!!
